Christian Counseling

Horizon with the cross and sunshine

Christian counseling integrates psychological principles and therapeutic techniques with biblical principles to holistically address mental health struggles while also deepening your faith (Psychology Today). This can involve prayers during session, exploring the teachings of Scripture, or informal discussion about God’s work in your life. Not all sessions have to be centered around spiritual growth, but having a shared value system can be incredibly helpful.

The heart behind Radiant Counseling is to support others as they seek the Lord and allow Him to transform their lives. The name of the practice was inspired by Psalm 34:5: “Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.” I believe shame is the root of many mental health struggles, but the Bible teaches that we don’t have to live in shame. Jesus died on the cross to liberate us from sin and shame (Romans 3:23-25). When you accept Him into your life, any wrongs you have (or will) commit are forgiven and you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). You are accepted as a child of God (Romans 8:17). No matter how lost you might feel, no one is beyond the redemption of Jesus. You can be radiant.

It’s this truth that fuels my passion for helping others through hardship. As a therapist, I can walk alongside others on their path towards healing, but I know ultimate healing can only come through relationship with Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 2:24). I’ve seen how inviting God into the therapy room can result in incredible growth and transformation.

No matter what you’re bringing to the therapy room, I’d love to partner with you as you heal from the past and grow into the person God intended you to be.
